Social management - Chatrooms

The Laia Platform provides powerful and immersive networking and engagement features including Group, Private and Theme based chats along with smart networking in the form of matchmaking enabled by AI to increase the likelihood of being matched with relevant professionals who share similar interests and aspirations.

Adding a chatroom

You can create custom chatrooms in the "Social" tab. Begin by pressing the "Add new" button. A form will appear on the right side where you will enter the name of the chatroom.  You can create any kind of chatroom including a get to know chatroom, lecture specific chat room or topic / group specific such as “sales”, “marketing” or “finance” chatroom.

Once you have entered the chatroom, press the "Save and publish" button.


The chatrooms you have created can be found in Virtual Venue (event homepage) under the Social tab and the Chatrooms subtab. Then choose which chatroom you want to enter and click on the "Enter" button.

You will then be taken to a chatroom window where you can type your questions or interact with others.

Note: When setting up chatrooms please be advised that chatroom content is not moderated and cannot be deleted. We recommend that you create a “test” chatroom to explore its functionality, checking if everything works, and then deleting it so that any test comments and interactions do not appear in the discussion thread.


Deleting a chatroom

To delete a chatroom, simply click on its name in the list of chatrooms in the Social tab.
